Making the characters talk is most likely realized by text-to-speech (TTS) technology. It involves language and acoustic analysis of raw text, generating a spectrum of output, and finally forming human-like audio. It is also applied in audiobooks, filmmaking, and so on.
AI Voice Cloning is also a common practice. Using AI to create a digital replica of someone’s voice, this technology can be seen in customized interactive scenarios, such as chatting with AI. Some chatbots allow users to upload or create a voice and use it for the virtual character.
Taking voice generation to the next level, Neural Speech Synthesis leverages deep neural networks to produce incredibly natural and expressive speech. This end-to-end approach combines acoustic modeling, duration control, and prosody prediction, making synthetic voices increasingly indistinguishable from human speech.

Select a Voice for Your Original Character on RPGGO
As a game platform powered by AI, RPGGO offers a couple of voice selections for characters on the creator tool. Creators can choose one voice for the NPC in the Character (NPC) Details.
If you want to hear the voices of characters, you can:
- Turn on NPC Voice;
- Allow the browser to play audio;
- Click the play button in NPC chat.
In group chats, NPCs may reply to each other as well as to the player. It is like players are right there, involved in the game’s situation, and exploring the open world by themselves.
More AI Voice Options on the Way
RPGGO is still working on the customization of voices for AI NPCS. Here are some aspects we discussed about improving the NPC voice feature:- More voice options: release more diversified options of voices.
- Record voice: allow users to record their voices.
- Upload voice: allow users to upload an audio file.
- Adjust voice: adjust the pitch, tone, speed, etc. of the created/uploaded/existing voice.
